Marathon vehicles are fitted with disk brakes just like cars!
Driving trials
One driving competition = three trials :
- Dressage : the competitors must per- form a routine.
- Marathon : tests the horses’ endurance, stamina, speed and handling as well as the driver’s abilities over a varied terrain.
- Handling over a narrow and winding course set out with gates marked by cones with balls balanced on top.
The sport of trekking :
The TREC (Competitive Equestrian Trekking Technique)
- Open to all types of teams.
One TREC competition = four trials :
- Presentation of the pair and equipment
- Orienteering race
- Obstacle stage
- Control of paces
